I'm an IT specialist in an IB school in Dubai. I enjoy finding new ways for IT to extend learning & make life easier. Not that it always does! Well – that’s my 140 characters... I’m sure I’ll get round to extend this one of these days :)
Pinterest is looking better and better - I really like how it provides a platform for sharing resources in a visual and simple way.
As a (new) tech integrator, part of my role is to inspire non-techies with a variety of online tools that will improve both their - and their students - lives.
I'm looking forward to using my Pinterest once the new school year begins...
Only trouble is, you can't seem to just use photos from your computer - only uploaded from Flickr, Facebook or Dropbox...
Oh well - looks great anyway! Hope it works... If not here it is:
At last, after days of trying different ways (and lots of Google Search help!) I THINK I have found a work around (several actually!) to get my delicious tags onto my blog. Readers SHOULD be able to click on a tag below to see the resources that I have collected over the years...
Last week I led a teacher workshop to share what I felt were 5 of the top web 2.0 tools (but I couldn't stick to 5!) to support learning & teaching. It seemed to go well but it made me realise how little 'geeks' & 'techies' (like me!) get to share with other teachers AND even when we do, how difficult it is to convince them that technology CAN be easy to use and CAN make their life easier...?!
IT is not a them & us situation - IT needs to be integrated into teaching and it's our job as geeks & techies to lead the way!
Here are the tools that I introduced (and below) - what else should I have shared...?
Have a look at these sites that I collated using Bag the Web - they are all for use in the regular classroom by teachers OR students - improve your work and make it easier!
